Roasted Almonds

I really really want to love this one. But so far it’s a little meh.

The smell of the bag is so nutty that I immediately put the kettle on when I smelled it.

Once brewed it tastes predominately of apple. The smell is nutty and slightly floral. The color is a beautiful pink from the beetroot.

It is a little weak. I used 2tsp to 11oz. Steeped 10 min. Will try again with more tea next time.

This blend has a lovely almond aroma. I used 3 heaping teaspoons in 12 oz pot and steeped it for 10 minutes. Each sip of the deep pink brew revealed a prominent apple and hibiscus start with a lingering almond finish. Although this tea is called “Roasted Almonds”, and they are clearly visible in the mix, the taste is sweeter, more like raw almonds or the aftertaste of almond milk.

I really liked this tea, and I’d definitely buy it. I don’t have a permanent rating system in place yet, but for now I’m giving this an 80.

There’s not actually tea in this one. It’s all fruit. And for someone who’s not a huge fan of sweet, fruity teas… I really don’t like it.
It’s way too sweet for me hot. Despite its name, I don’t taste almonds at all. There are some slivers there, but it’s not enough over the potency of apples. So I figured it would be okay iced, but it’s the same deal. It steeps to a bright pink color that reminds me of kool-aid. Maybe the taste is similar, too. I honestly don’t recall the flavor of kool-aid.
I’ll stick to teas with actual tea in them. At least this one was just a sample.

I wanted to try this one, as it seems like many almond teas that other tea companies sell, but there was a mention of hibiscus in the description. So either it meant they were mistaking the beetroot for hibiscus or this was a different blend. There is hibiscus in this one, so it is different! Otherwise, it does taste very similar to that almond blend so many others sell, but there is a tanginess from the hibiscus. I can’t say I like this one more, as I’m not a fan of hibiscus. Variation on a theme, if you will. But otherwise, I love the apple and almond flavor that is just perfect for a no-caff option.

mmmmm a tasty cup of this one tonight even though i should be workin on sipdowns. lol I really just wanted to have this one again, so i did. ha! For whatever reason, this one seems to do the trick for me, but i couldn’t tell you why. I’m just glad i tried it in store and picked it up :)
