Our Flamecrest is an Ali Shan Jin Xuan Dong Pian, also known as Snow Flake, a High Mountain Jin Xuan Oolong, harvested in January 2018 (after winter harvest but before spring harvest). Normally there are no harvests between winter harvest (Oct. – Dec.) and spring harvest ( March – May), because tea leaves stop to grow in very cold weather. But sometimes the winter is mild in Taiwan (even in the high mountain region) and the tea leaves can grow just enough to be harvested. This tea is lightly roasted, which makes the flavour more complex and allows for better storing. This is not your everyday tea, but one for a special treat.
