“1 tbsp for 18 oz Amazing to me how some teas can be astringent when sipped at certain temperatures but not others. This tea has a lovely, smooth, classic Yunnan flavor, but only when it was warm —...” Read full tasting note
These curled buds are heavenly, and exhibit all of the best flavor qualities of Yunnan’s unique tea bush varieties: sweetness, richness, low astringency and enticing caramel-like flavors. Sip this tea black and you will find that no milk or sugar is needed.
This tea was made from leaf that was fairly large and from tea bushes that produced an abundance of tip ( the brown parts ). Yunnan teas such as this are made from leaf from older, larger tea bushes, most likely of the Camellia assamica strain. The curled buds are rather thick and durable and not as delicate as they may appear.
