Description

You may call him Golden Dragon if you wish but around here he goes by the name of Jin Long (meaning Golden Dragon). He is the youngest sibling of the Chen family in this household, and a very enterprising and hard working one. Not even 2 years ago, Jinlong invested in land, planted new tea gardens and started making tea in a small workshop he refurbished with new machinery. His goal was not to do like all the others around, making four season oolong, but to make black tea; more specifically, good no-comprise black tea! We are extremely proud and privileged to be able to showcase his work through this prize winning competition tea and put a deserved spotlight on him while these very limited sealed and numbered boxes are available. It comes as no surprise to this writer that this superb tea has been awarded a second place status during the annual Mingjian Tea Framer’s Association Competiton. It is unique in the way that it proposes a blend of high mountain Qing Xin leaves sourced from Shanlinxi and a smaller percentage of Jin Xuan leaves sourced locally. Both together propose an expansive spectrum of both lively stone fruit notes (peach, cherry) with hints of candied violets, fresh vanilla and wintergreen freshness. The body is supple and suave but what surprises is the most pleasant long aftertaste that simply lures you to not stop drinking it! Jin Long is on to something with this style of tea, and we’re in the right spot to follow his future endeavours! Needless to say, this exclusive tea is available in very limited quantity. Otherwise, you might also wish to consider our Shanlinxi High Mountain Black Tea that is a constituent of this winning blend.
