A fully rolled Oolong tea from summer? Aren’t summer tea supposed to be Oriental Beauty and black tea? Why are you selling a “summer” tea that is not “heavily oxidated” or fermented?" Has Taiwan Sourcing finally turned crazy that they begin to defy the “law of tea”? If these are the questions you have in mind when you see this tea, you are already quite familiar with the common sense of Taiwanese tea world.
Nevertheless, Taiwan Sourcing is a team that does not totally follow the “common sense” people know. We want to challenge the norm and create “great tea” rather than following the concepts people are used to. This tea was created to proof that “summer material” can also be great for processing fully rolled oolong as long as the key guidelines of tea processing are followed.
We again use Wu Yi varietal, probably one of our top 3 varietals to process with. However, this is the first time we are using a Wu Yi varietal directly from Songboling. This plantation is actually quite famous in Mingjian area due to its owner is the relative of a famous tea person in Taiwan, but that is not the point. The point is it it is also a very clean plantation like our “Overlord,” and that’s why we gave it the name “Baron.”
To proof the point that great processing persistence can make normally considered “inferior material” a great tea, we were very cautious while working on this tea to make sure everything went perfectly as we were expected by the fan of Taiwan Sourcing. If our “Overlord” does not disappoint you, this “Baron” would not neither. May this tea be with you when you are eager to drink tea.
