From T2

Raspberries are known as one of the worlds most perfect foods, so we guess that means this tea is in the same prestigious ranks! These beautiful crimson baubles have been combined with a light green oolong tea to create a wonderfully fragrant and intense yet delicate flavour. Berry bliss that will leave you begging for more.

Bleh. Such a bother to save the last cup only for disappointment. I hope you have better teas today!

Another from the Strange VariaTea TTB. The berry notes are very strong here. I’m getting an almost candy-like strawberry and/or raspberry flavor. It’s just a smidge too sweet for my taste, especially in the first steep, but still enjoyable. The base tea doesn’t totally fade away – it does have some heft – but I’m having trouble making out specific notes. The base gets even lighter and more non-specific in the second steep, but the berry flavoring gets lighter too so it’s ok. Not one I’d reach for but one I’m happy to have tried.

I found myself disappointed by this tea. I enjoy a good Oolong but the berry flavour in this tea tasted fake and synthetic (even though I know its not). I don’t really have much else to say about it. I know people who do like this tea but I would suggest getting a sample brewed up before purchasing a whole box as it is more expensive.

This tea is a perfect brew to start the morning. The green tea makes for a decent health kick, while the sweetness of the berries counteracts any bitterness it may offer. However, if steeped for too long that tartness can slightly override the berry notes. But that is a danger with any green or white tea, so best to brew only as much as you need and drink it hot. On the contrary this particular blend doesn’t become that bad if over steeped and overall could be quite nice chilled. That is, when the weather here decides to become less dark and dreary. When that will be, I have no idea!

Thanks to memily for this tea!

This smells divine! It smells like fresh raspberries. I might have oversteeped this one, I found the taste a little bitter, which I usually don’t get when I oversteep oolongs. I’ll have to watch the time next time I guess. Otherwise it is pleasant enough. I found the flavour of the oolong a little weak, as well as the berry flavour. I could definitely tell it was raspberry flavoured, but it was drowned out by the bitterness. Despite all of that, it was still a pleasant enough cup, I just wish the taste was more in keeping with the scent.
