“Grandpa’s Afternoon Tea from Stylin’ Teas is exactly what it promises to be, but that almost sounds like an oxymoron: a robust afternoon tea? Aren’t afternoon teas supposed to be a bit lighter...” Read full tasting note
Grandpa Arthur Nijuguna Komo was born in 1901 and is the oldest living tea farmer in the world. He started tea farming in 1959 and since then has not only developed high quality tea on his own estates, but has mentored and assisted many other tea farmers in the area over the years. This tea is a hearty and organic black tea from Kamunyaka settlement in Thika District next to the Kieni Forest. It is as strong as Grandpa’s Anytime Tea and much debate is out there as to which one gives more of a caffeine boost. I think this one is the slightly mellower version but I have a customer who thinks it is the opposite. Since the customer is always right I will leave it at that. I love them both. This tea is herbicide and pesticide free since Grandpa wouldn’t have it any other way!
This tea is also good with milk and sweetner.
