“The reviews on SpecialTeas’ site and their description of this tea are spot-on: this tea brings together the best parts of an Assam without being bitter or too malty. There’s a spiciness to the tea...” Read full tasting note
“Very nice malty floral aroma. It’s like a cross between a mild Assam and a little Golden Monkey with a touch more fruit and very little bitterness.” Read full tasting note
In less than a century, Kenya has risen to the status of the world’s largest exporter of black tea. Though most of Kenya’s teas are fanning grade (used in commercial tea bags), the Kenya Highlands with altitudes of up to 9000 feet produce very small amounts of some wonderful, orthodox produced full-leaf teas.
Our new Kenya Tinderet TGFOP1 is special grade with an exceptional amount of golden tips. This beautiful, sophisticated tea has the traits of both top quality Assams and high-grown Ceylons – tippy and complex with a spicy- fruity aroma and outstanding lingering aftertaste. The sturdy, full-bodied liquor offers layers of flavor notes and can be enjoyed with or without the addition of milk and sugar.
Recommendations: Use 1 level tsp. per 6 oz. cup; heat fresh water to a roaring boil and steep for 3 min. Goes well with milk and rock sugar.
