“Drinking the last of this Monstrositea sample from the July box. It’s a nice light and twiggy black.” Read full tasting note
This is a special limited edition tea straight from the streets of Kathmandu to your teapot. Prepared in a similar way to a Darjeeling, Ilam (pronounced ee-lam) tea is named after the region in the far east of Nepal characterised by its harsh cold climate and altitude of 1200-2500m, where it is grown. The dry leaves have a distinct woody, almost bready, herbaceous (twiggy) aroma but release a rosy floral scent when brewed.
Boil 1/2tsp of leaves per cup at 85°C for 3-4mins.
