Alishan is a high mountain resort and nature preserve in Southwestern Taiwan famous for its scenic beauty and high altitude tea gardens. While tea production in this area is relatively new (30 years), it has become a highly regarded region due to its advantageous environment. Our Jin Xuan tea comes from Tai Cha 27 (Taiwan Tea Bush 27), a new bush cultivated from older established bushes. The light oxidation creates a mild fresh flavor similar to green tea making it an excellent choice for new tea drinkers. Enjoy the bright clean tea color and light taste. You will note a buttery essence that slowly emerges over several brews. This slow developing buttery fragrance ensures this is a true Jin Xuan rather than one with added chemicals commonly seen in the tea industry.
