From RiverTea

You know those days when it feels like time stands still… If you’re looking for a tea to spice things up and add some flavor to your day, then you’ll be impressed by the unconventional combination in this Honeybush infusion. There’s nothing traditional about this blend, especially when it comes to its taste. Honeybush is so named because its flowers smell of honey, so the base of this infusion has a sweet flavor. On top of that, you can sample a spicy bouquet of ginger and pink pepper. The long lasting taste of fruity delight is rendered by big chunks of pineapple. Tulsi herb, a plant widely used in India for hundreds of years for its health properties, adds a final touch to this exciting blend.

Ingredients: Honeybush Tea, Tulsi herb, Basil leaves, Pineapple bits, Ginger bits, Liquorice, Pink pepper kernels, Flavouring, Cornflower blossoms, Cassia bits.

This was an interesting tea. I had hopes for the ginger/pineapple combination, but when i picked it, i didn’t realise that there is both basil and tulsi in this one. As a result, while this is a pleasant enough cup, the ginger and pineapple are dominated by the tulsi. I think i would love this sooooo much if there was no Tulsi – it would make a pretty good tea. And i’m not a tulsi hater, it just bring a particular taste to the table and it’s not what i was looking for in this tea. Still, it’s nice to try a few more teas :)

Odd combination—tulsi is pretty overpowering. Ginger and pineapple I could groove with.

Sil

yeah it overpowered the whole blend…

Nattie

I always find ginger overpowering, it’s probably from the bad childhood memories, though. Ugh. I can’t stick ginger now.

Terri HarpLady

I love my Ginger, not so much for tulsi though

Sil

i don’t mind tulsi but in moderation :)

meh….first it was rooibos this & rooibos that. I remember herbal teas before rooibos came on the scene, they were way better, or maybe it just seemed that way, back in the dark ages. Now Tulsi is the new rooibos, as far as I’m concerned.
