Description

This tea has a marvelous floral, fruity, clear and refreshing character with a very rich body and lingering after taste. New Qingxin is a special breed of tea bush planted for Rishi in Mingjian Village about 6 years ago in our experimental organic oolong farm. Currently the teas from this farm are flushing quite nicely and we are very happy with the vibrantly flavored oolongs coming out each season. New Qingxin is a very versatile breed that is related to the original tea bushes planted in Taiwan during the 18th Century. It was bred and selected for Rishi to perform in mid-elevation regions and under natural organic cultivation methods. Even at 700-800 meters above sea level this tea exudes a body rich and a slightly sweet, smooth, umami taste. This flavor combination is typical in teas grown above 1200 meters but rarely found in the mid-grown regions where organic cultivation can be better controlled and isolated.

Winter Orchid’s fresh evergreen aroma is accented by hints of tropical fruit, orchid and subtle umami flavor. This tea is best brewed gong fu style or cold brewed in an Essential Tea Pitcher.
