“I am almost out of this. :( So I wonder why Rare Tea Republic does not have any first flush teas yet like the rest of the world. You’d think if they were owned by Republic of Tea they’d be on it....” Read full tasting note
“This reminds me of a cross between a green and a white tea. Slightly vegetal but more like fresh peas than a leafy green type vegetal taste. This is a really nice tea! High quality leaf, aroma,...” Read full tasting note

Description

Sandakphu is the highest peak in West Bengal and it is claimed by both India and Nepal. This small tea garden takes its name from the mountain and is known for its single variety teas. Laboriously plucked from a single clonal variety on the first day of summer, this tea is an exceptional expression of a hand-crafted Nepali tea. A neat sage green and silver leaf delivers a smooth and sweet flavor reminiscent of cooked peas. There is a mild astringency, a slightly smoky essence and a lingering finish. Plucking date: June 24, 2011.
