People know that most these mini tuochas are low grade cheapo by using tea dust and they taste bad. But not this one, this mini Pu-erh tuocha brews a nice liquor with a satisfying, aromatic, remarkably smooth taste.

The first thing I smelled after brewing this tea was vanilla cake, but also a hint of pond. Typical of mini touchas, when it is brewed there are a lot of small fragments of leaves, so you have to be sure to use a strainer. It wasn’t very complex at all, and left me wishing that it had something more. It also left my throat quite dry. But overall, it gets relatively high marks for being very smooth and drinkable…and for smelling like cake.

Thank you for sending this one a while back, CharlotteZero! Oh man this is the type of pu-erh I love. I love pu-erh just for being pu-erh, it’s really different than anything else. Black tea sometimes tastes like chocolate but pu-erh is just pu-erh. If I’m making sense. This one is a standard delicious ripened pu-erh. It’s super dark even at the first cup. It’s sweet and dusky. The second cup is just the same. The third cup was a little spicier. The forth cup with a much higher temp and steep time is much more muted, so I don’t think I would go for a fourth cup again. But some pu-erhs are still going strong by the fourth cup. Not this one! But the cup was still enjoyable. The color of the cup is even much lighter. It’s tough to describe pu-erh more than any other teas, you just have to drink it! I’d buy these! I’m thinking of buying a couple things from puerhshop.com just to add things to MzPriss’s teabox (and other teaboxes, I guess!)
