Known as Jin Fo in Chinese, this is a rare historical tea from the Wuyi mountains made by Master Xu, one of the makers and guardians of the Da Hong Pao mother trees. The mother tree was a large tea tree that used to grow on the White Cliff by the river and because the local people bowed down everyday to wash the clothes facing the tree, the tree became known by the name ‘Gold Buddha’. The total production of this completely handmade tea from the most famous cliff in Wuyishan, Jiu Long Ke (Nine Dragon Nest), comes to less than 5 kilos per year. It has a wonderful depth of flavour with a strong roasted aroma.
