From Postcard Teas

A Yellow Branch (or Gardenia) Fragrance Dan Cong oolong handmade by Master Lin from a 300 year old tree that grows at 1150 meters on Mount Wu Dong – the Phoenix Mountains’ most celebrated peak. In April 2013 the tree produced less than 5 kilos of roasted tea.

The tea perhaps has a less intense perfume than our other dancongs from 2013 but is wonderfully rounded and well-balanced with a gentle floral aroma and a pleasant sweetness. We think it represents the best value for money out of all our single tree dancongs this year. Many infusions are possible.

ORIGIN: Master Lin, Single Tree (0 acres), Wudong Mountain (1150m altitude), Guangdong province, China

PLANTS AND PROCESSING: Single 300 year old tree – Camellia Sinensis Sinensis, Huang Zhi Xiang cultivar. Light/medium charcoal roast. Harvested April 2013.

BREWING: 90-95°C, 5g per cup. 8-10 infusions.

Had this one last night. Was okay. Fantastic thing about it was that you could brew it forever without it getting bitter. It stayed creamy and smooth. Bad thing about it was that it was boring. Not much going on to my palate, and not much aftertaste.
