From Plum Deluxe

Turmeric is a very popular tea ingredient due to it’s amazing – and scientifically validated – health benefits. It can be, however, an acquired taste, so you’ll usually see it paired with something. In our shop we sell a turmeric tea that is paired with some spices and cacao, giving it more of a sweeter note; in this case, we’re pairing it with nuts and spices, giving it more of a festive note. Delicious and healthy – I could easily drink this tea year-round.

This blend is a great latte – just add frothed milk to a smaller, strong brewed cuppa. Lattes with turmeric in them tend to be called golden milk, so if you see that at a cafe sometime, now you know.

ingredients: turmeric pieces, ginger, hibiscus, lemon peel, orange peel, black peppercorn, lemon myrtle

Day 16 of the Plum Deluxe herbal advent. In sharp contrast to Day 15, Welsh Dreams, this blend feels very aggressive. The lemon peel, orange peel, and hibiscus give it a lot of tartness. I don’t like how that combines with the earthiness of the turmeric. It ends up just tasting like it has a coarse, harsh edge. I think I prefer turmeric in a sweet blend or a ginger blend. The citrus combo really isn’t working for me.
