Since the first members of the Tudor line were born at Pembroke Castle Pembrokeshire’s flag has featured a rose. Here we have taken a wonderful Tea Hybrid rose with a sweet petal and blended it with a dark leaf tea.
The result is a tea that can be drunk with or without milk as an afternoon treat. We use rose petals, hips, stem and leaf in this mix to balance the bitter sweet flavours.
At present 68% of this tea uses locally grown tea leaves and roses. But we’re working on having 100% grown here in just 3 years.
It is best made with just off the boil water, 2-3 minute infusion and with or without milk. One good tip with this if you are using a teapot is to re-fill it with boiling water before pouring a second serving as the rose petals can taste quite bitter after a long infusion.
