Strong fragrance balanced by the clean charcoal roast. The lid of the gaiwan smells sweet while the thick soup clings to the throat. This tea can really take the heat; reboil the water between infusions.
The name “Gold Medal Rou Gui” is new for our shop. This tea was produced by my uncle who produced the 2017 Rou Gui that I loved so much. This year he felt lucky and entered it in a local competition. He took home the gold medal and has since sold the whole batch, but did save a small amount for us.
