Dong Ding is a classic famous Taiwanese oolong tea for a reason, and this is a prime example of the flavors it can demonstrate. Notes of toasted grain, honey, and the last flowers of summer delight your palate and linger in the mouth well after the last sip.
The tightly curled leaves are roasted with utmost care and balance. The aroma blends delicious toasted grain notes of wheat and delicate floral tones of honeysuckle and Asiatic lilies, blending honey sweetness with gentle spice.
The first sip surprises you with the mouthfeel, thick and buttery, well rounded and very smooth. The first note that shows up is a buttery sweetness, like heavy cream butter churned with honey. This blends perfectly with the note of toasted grains and freshly baked bread. The finish has very delicate and distant floral notes, like the last remnants of summer’s blooming.
