“Instead of the usual spicy cardamom scent this tea smells like cinnamon – I mean REALLY like cinnamon, as in ‘are you sure someone didn’t stick those spicy cinnamon hearts in here?" The flavour was...” Read full tasting note
“I had this over the weekend for my niece’s first birthday. It honestly tasted quite a bit like the Christmas Blend, but a bit more spicy. I enjoyed it with some milk and agave!” Read full tasting note
“Another teabag sample. This one is somewhat disappointing. I suppose I like my chais to be cardamom-heavy, and this one kind of tastes mostly like a cinnamon black? I’m sure there’s some other...” Read full tasting note

Description

A Murchie’s Tradition! Murchie’s Traditional Chai Tea is a blend of black tea with warming spices: cinnamon, ginger, cloves, cardamom, nutmeg and hint of orange and vanilla. Delicious brewed strong with milk and honey.

Chai actually refers to the generic word for tea in Hindi, but throughout the western world, chai is known as a mixture of black tea and masala spices that are prevalent in Indian cuisine. Milk, sugar or honey is traditionally added to chai to bring out the flavour of the spices in the brew.

Murchie’s Traditional Chai is our tribute to a beloved century-old spice blend originating in North America’s west coast. This spice blend is distinct from others for its intriguing use of orange, ginger and vanilla. For an authentic Indian masala chai, please enjoy our Bombay Chai blend.

Tasting Notes: Juicy citrus with a kick of heat. This tea opens with orange and clove, a hint of vanilla lingering throughout, and cinnamon and ginger to balance the sweet and spice. Nutmeg comes out the more you sip, with subtle cardamom meshing perfectly with the orange. Smelling and tasting like walking through a spice market, this makes a perfect fall tea.

Ingredients: Black tea (Ceylon), ginger, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, natural and artificial flavouring
