“Small Red Robe” sometimes called “Big Red Robe younger brother” is the tea cultivar bred of Da Hong Pao mother plants, but with smaller leaves. It was made in October 2018 in the Wuyishan Nature Reserve (medium degree of fermentation, moderated heat).
In appearance: middle-sized, lengthwise twisted leaves of brown colors. The aroma is intensive, spicy-biscuit. The liquor is transparent, amber color.
The bouquet of ready-made tea is multifaceted and warm, woody, with biscuit, nutty, floral, mushroom and fruity nuances. The aroma is warm, and deep, spicy; cold aroma is sweet, floral. The taste is full-bodied and smooth, sweetish, with delicate fruity tartness and mineral notes that distinguish Yancha.
Brew tea with hot boiling water (95°C) in a porcelain gaiwan or a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 6 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 5-7 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 1-2 seconds), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can repeat this method up to 7 times.
Oolong “Xiao hong pao” is an excellent ceremonial tea with multifaceted taste and warming, relaxing effect.
