1 Tasting Note View all

“I’m pretty skeptical of this due to it’s price. I’m hoping what I got is at least wuyi adjacent. and for this review that is going to be my assumption. This is pretty generic for this kind of tea....” Read full tasting note

Description

“Big Red Robe” harvest of 2018 from “Meidong” tea farm (Wuyishan tea region, Fujian province).

In appearance: medium-sized, dark brown flagella of twisted tea leaves. The fragrance is deep, pastry. The liquor is transparent, with a dark amber shade.

The bouquet of ready-made tea is warm, spicy-and-pastry, with roasted and fruity notes. The aroma is deep and warm. The taste is soft, oily, slightly spicy, with a light minerality, fine fruit acidity and refreshing finish.

Brew tea with hot water (95°С) in a porcelain gaiwan or in a teapot of porous clay. The proportion is 6-7 g per 100 ml. The time of the first steeping is about 8-10 seconds. After that do short steeps (just for 2-3 second), increasing steeping time for each subsequent step, if necessary. You can repeat this method up to 5 times.

The effect is warming, moderately tonic, in low concentration – relaxing.
