From Matcha Outlet

Hemp protein has some rather controversial origins within the seed pod of the well known cannabis sativa plant. In spite of this, Hemp protein does not have the drug inducing side effects of its mother plant but is in fact nature’s highest source of natural fiber, protein and vital fatty acids. This means that, it has been documented to contain up to 10 necessary amino acids and has proven itself as a fundamental source of natural fiber.

Since dark green nutty flavored hemp protein powder is very rich in natural protein, blending it with Matcha creates a balanced drink that can be taken as a healthy beverage at any tea party. Hemp Protein Matcha also provides its drinkers with a special taste that comes with bonus health benefits such as;

Adding to the body crucial new protein sources that cannot be produced naturally by the body but are necessary for survival. Sustaining life because it is a 100% protein source. It overshadows all other plants in its ability to prolong life in situations where no other foods are easily available. Easing the digestion of protein into the body without the uncomfortable gas effects. Its rich fiber source is also excellent in ensuring adequate bowel movement in many diets that are low in fiber. Neutralizing common protein allergies. Keeping inflammations at bay. Maintaining brain activity by the provision of all essential amino acids. Can improve some skin diseases like atopic dermatitis. Contains other minerals including iron, calcium, vitamin E, magnesium and the B range of vitamins.

I am at home with the plague, and decided to have matcha. Why? IDK. Honestly, a nap would be super nice right about now but I’m not sure I’d be able to get to sleep.

As a latte, with sugar. Yes, normal sugar. It’s creamy and mildly flavoured. What does hemp taste like? It’s a little nutty, I guess. It doesn’t taste like much.

I’m almost out of matcha samples. This one is from CrowKettle, and I only have one serving left!

This seems like such a weird flavour to me.

OMGsrsly

It’s more like hemp seeds than anything. Nutty, creamy, grassy.

MissB

Oh gosh, I can help you with more samples if you’d like… feel better soon!

Fjellrev

Nooooooo, I hope you feel better soon!

OMGsrsly

I really don’t need more tea!! :) The matcha is fun, but I think just having a plain one in my cupboard is enough. I like it but can’t drink it every day.

This plague is terrible, Fjellrev! I really needed to go to work today but couldn’t manage it. :/

__Morgana__

It does seem weird. Before I read the bit about the seeds I wondered if it tasted like rope.

OMGsrsly

Actually… hemp rope almost smells nutty too. And grassy, like hay baking in the sun. :)

This flavored matcha is a bit different from what I would normally try, which is one of the reasons why I decided to order it. That, and I have a history with hemp. In college (and long afterward) I was a strong advocate for the legalization of hemp farming/production. No, not marijuana, hemp. They are different, they even come from different strains of the plant.

Anyway, I wanted to try it and I’m glad I am. This is really very good. The hemp gives the matcha a very pleasant nutty kind of flavor, and seems to accentuate the vegetative, earthy qualities of the matcha. It is smooth, creamy and very tasty. I won’t go all out and say that it’s my favorite flavored Matcha, it isn’t, but, I am enjoying it, and I’m not sorry at all that I decided to give it a try.

Bonnie

Hemp and Hops as you know are in the same family so you were probably interested in Beer in college too! ;)

LiberTEAS

haha… no, actually I have never really liked the taste of beer. But I do like hops. Which I guess is weird. I love hops in tea and tisanes. But never have liked the taste of beer, and will really only drink it if I were already drunk. (which I realize probably isn’t a good thing to drink more if one is already drunk … but just try telling me that when I’m drunk … which I might add is very rarely these days).

Bonnie

Keep talkin…this is interesting…we’d all like to know more wouldn’t we guys?!

Autumn Hearth

Hehe. I am very particular about what beers (must be rich, smooth malty, usually high alcohol content) I used to hate IPAs but my sister recently had an ale called Hop Madness that was quite amazing, I tried it after her mother in law mentioned it tasted like a Christmas Tree and I’m all about that (I was there for a bourbon barrel porter) But what I wanted to comment on was a recent thing some friends had said about a paranoid landlord accusing them of growing marijuana in the from yard, he was growing hops on an arbor. The landlords wife confirmed it wasn’t marijuana as she had personal experience from her pre-Born Again days, hehe.

Bonnie

Just don’t inhale the arbor right!

TeaEqualsBliss

I’d love to try this one, too! I heard there are over 50,000 different uses for hemp! I support many of the ones I am familiar with. I never have used “Mary Jane” but understand it could help many medical issues when used properly. I, personally, use Hemp Hearts in foods to help with digestion. I also like Hemp fibers and Oils for various things.

TeaEqualsBliss

Insert/Addition for my above statement…I have never use and don’t plan on every using “MJ”. I guess you could just call me a modern-day drug-free hippie! :)

Bonnie

I went to the local Northern Colorado Fibromyalgia meeting which was about medical MJ and I qualify because of chronic migraine nausea not just the pain I have from fibromyalgia. Don’t want it though at this point. I don’t like taking anything that I absolutely don’t have to take. (My topomax to prevent some of the triggers for migraines…oh I won’t go without that!!!)

LiberTEAS

I had a pair of hemp boots and they were the most comfortable pair of shoes I’ve ever owned, even more comfortable than Vans which are my go-to shoes. I guess I’ll always be a California sidewalk surfer at heart.

Two scoops of matcha, two scoops of soy protein powder, a bit of fresh ginger, and a cup of cranberry juice. Can’t really taste the matcha but this contraption is good- nutty, sweet, and tart. It’s almost creamy too. It makes up for not having a banana (or any fresh fruit) in the apartment right now.

Normally, this is a nice, mild flavour, even though it’s Robust. the nutty hemp blends into the natural notes of the green matcha well. I’m not sure this is something I would get again but it’s a pleasant flavour.

Edit: I had 3 scoops this again today in a smoothie with pear, ginger, lemon, cranberry juice, and a little soy protein for fizz. I’m down to my last scoop.. almost time to buy more matcha!

Bonnie

Hemp milk tastes wierd so I can’t imagine hemp matcha.

Crowkettle

This is the first time I’ve ever tried anything with Hemp in it, so I don’t know how it compares, but this doesn’t taste strange. To me it tastes like normal green matcha with a few extra dimensions filled out.

OMGsrsly

Mmm, more matcha!

Crowkettle

I don’t know what to get, or how much I should get.. I want to try so many flavours.

OMGsrsly

The pineapple smells so good! I haven’t tried it yet because of the cold…

Crowkettle

I’m curious to see how that and the raspberry(?) one work out for you :)

I’m thinking of going with cheesecake, pumpkin pie, more caramel, and french vanilla/maple syrup but can’t decide on the flavour level.

OMGsrsly

The raspberry & whatever one was tasty, but I can still barely taste. The pineapple is just so strong it sits there on the counter and the smell seeks out my nose! I’d probably get the lowest flavour option for most, if not all, of them.

Bonnie

Hemp milk tastes strange to me, so I imagined hemp matcha would taste weird too. Glad it was ok.

OMGsrsly

Raspberry and cream is definitely good. I want to try the strawberry and champagne one (apparently they have either strawberry or champagne now). And black cherry. And sea buckthorn. I’m going after all the fruity flavours for some reason.

Crowkettle

I want to try almost all the matcha flavours, all the ones you just listed included.

Another lunch time cold soy milk matcha late to aid my NCIS LA marathon this morning. As for this matcha it’s been something I’ve wanted to try for a while. I have tried hemp flavoured water before after seeing it in a local shop and liked it very much. Strength of this matcha is robust.

This one is interesting, I can taste the green tea but there is also something a little herby, grassy and floral there which must be the hemp. They work well together, it’s a green tea that has more depth and flavour without being too different. Very nice.

Ze_Teamaker

I wonder how it would taste in brownies…..
