The garden of Singbulli (meaning « Refuge of the Lions ») spreads out to the west of Darjeeling, in the heart of the fertile valley of Mirik. Dried leaves: The buds associated with majestic first leaves make up a precious finery of green sapphire and bronze. This refined opulence opens with an elegant fragrance of acacia flower punctuated by a sweet, mellow note of white nougat.
Infused leaves: Visually flattering leaves feature a flamboyant jade hue. Its perfume is an ode to spring and the rebirth of nature, evoking notes of fresh tree sap and green almond.
Liquor: A precious orange robe resembling the imperial topaz of the Maharajahs. On the palate, the liquor develops a fruity amber sensation, followed by a hint of pomegranate caramel accentuated with a dash of lemon balm serving as an elegant and gourmet digression.

Curious TeaThe dry leaves are short, small, and dark green with white tips. Their smell is not very intense; it’s earthy, almost piny, with a sharp note that is more like what I tend to find in second flush darjeelings.
The steeped tea is a clear, amber color and smells, remarkably, like baked goods. It has a floral upswing to it as well.
In flavor, it’s rather mellow. The sharp note in the dry leaves is noticeable but much less intense in the flavor. I do get caramel, remarkably, and something that is rather coffee-like, too. Pomegranate and lemon balm, not so much. Though if I squint, I can understand the lemon balm which is more like an aura of generic citrus to me.
It’s a delightful darjeeling.
