Jungpana, which means « sweet young girl » in Tibetan, is one of the most spectacular organic tea gardens in Darjeeling, nestled in the district of Kurseong, offering fresh and airy teas perfectly exemplified in this year’s cru.
Leaves : fine, with varying colours of celadon green and silver buds plucked from the highest part of the Jungpana Tea Estate.
Nose : a gourmet note of starfruit with accents of sun-ripened white fig.
Liquor : amber; it offers a smooth and supple structure highlighting a fine astringency on which expands an elegant first note – fruity, sweet and tart – of santol (cotton fruit) followed by an aromatic explosion of golden kiwi with its honeyed, yellow flesh crowned by a final note of white peach.
Perfect for Spring, in all its opulence.
