“The description of this tea on the website is accurate. No astringency, smooth, mildly roasted and fruity with a cocoa background. I like this one, and it would have probably been better if I added...” Read full tasting note
Like an ancient Chinese secret, this tea is an ancient Chinese secret… more or less. Keemun Maofeng is a variety of Keemun Tea, where Mao Feng (or Maofeng) means Fur Peak (because of the fuzzy tips of the tea), which is exclusively made of slightly twisted leaf buds. It is sometimes noted for its smoother (compared to other Keemuns) and more delicate flavor. This Keemun Maofeng is made of tea leaves harvested near China’s Qingming Festival (April 5th) and is curly, thin, and dotted with golden tips. It is smooth with no acidity, feature fruity and toasty flavors, and has a lingering sweet taste.
