From Lupicia

STRAWBERRY is such a delightful blend of strawberry-scented black tea with fresh strawberry leaves. The tea is bursting with the flavor of juicy, fresh strawberries. Delicious taken straight, but also great with plenty of milk. Add a bit of sugar to make a drinkable dessert. Tastes very good iced as well!

SHAE’S ADVENT CALENDAR, DECEMBER 9

Was I good this year to deserve a Lupicia blend in my Advent Calendar? Or it is some Shae’s mishap? That brand… that famous Japanese brand with great teas I had only in tea bag. Ohhhh!

It’s not artificial. Period.
It’s a great strawberry tea, flavoured just right. Yes, the dry pouch can be overwhelming. Yes, it’s strong, but feels real.

I took two teaspoons and used a reusable tea bag from Nichole/CuppaGeek. Thank you Nichole. And thank you Shae for this tea.

I steeped for 3 minutes. It was bold and the base was there strongly. But it was so mild, so wonderfully flavoured. I was like eating real fruits with bold black tea. But it’s just flavoured black tea.

It’s not bitter. It’s not bland. It’s… Lupicia. Only thing I am not sure about; can be the berry more juicy next time?

That sounds so delicious. I never mind strong tastes but even a little artificial is a turn off for me (unless it’s candy-like, sometimes, that’s okay. ^^)

Cameron B.

OMG I was just eating those strawberry puff gummies last night! And yes, Lupicia is the the bomb diggity.

Martin Bednář

Hah, completely agree Kawaii433! Sometimes it’s just too much. Not here luckily and even my father, who generally hates flavoured teas said it was smelling real and nice. I don’t mind artificial flavouring, but it must be somehow right.

Cameron B. What a coincidence! I can eat tons of those, as they are just right on sweet-o-meter.

Everyone: Do you know what I love on that mine picture? That one of that puff gummy is hiding “1 cup of” and it shows only “perfect tea” which is kind of right on this cuppa!

ashmanra

I am getting this one for Christmas! Squeeeeee!

Martin Bednář

You had to be a “good girl” when you get this for Christmas ashmanra! :D

Shae

I’m so glad you liked this one!

Martin Bednář

Indeed I liked. A lot!

Revisiting a few of my Lupicia teas that I haven’t had in a while. This one is so tasty. I love a good strawberry black tea. Bumping my rating.

Side note – Does anyone know when Lupicia typically releases their Christmas teas? I have a few I want to try this year.

I can never remember, but someone usually posts to the sales thread. I get email notifications from Lupicia so I’ll post once I know – unless someone beats me to it!

Cameron B.

We did a group order when they were released a couple of years ago, and it looks like I made the thread in mid-November.

Shae

Thank you both! I’ll make a note on my calendar for mid-November. I would like to sign up for their email newsletter, but I can’t ever find where to do that on their website.

We are entering another stretch of 100 degree days. Current forecast shows about a week of these temps, which is going to drive me nuts.
So, light, fruity teas it is!
I picked this up in one of my last tea binges, as there are several Lupicia blends with strawberry in them that I like, so I figured why not try out the purer version?
The trouble is that I do not particularly care for this. Its not awful, but its not the lust and delicate strawberry that I was hoping for. It is, in fact, sorta boring.
Ah well.

Fjellrev

Oh geez, I would die in that heat. :(

My mom gave me this sample since she dislikes fruit flavored teas.

I really enjoyed this tea. The smell upon opening the bag was a very powerful strawberry, but I was happy that it toned down a lot after steeping. The flavor of strawberry was easily detectable but didn’t over power the base.

Got one teabag of this with my happy bag purchase. Brewed it as a normal black tea. Did not go online to see if they had any brewing suggestions. It is good but it came out just a little bitter. Also, the taste of the strawberries is not that pronounced as I would like.

Brewed one teabag in approx 8oz of boiling water for 3 min.

This tea tastes deliciously of strawberry candy sweetness. It is great and is one of the few berry teas I have tried from Lupicia that can actually compete with the super dense base. This is one I would get again for sure.

Strawberry was awesome, no complaints. The flavor of strawberries was a bit strong, which I’m totally ok with. This is the first berry tea that I’ve had that I REALLY like. The sweetness of the strawberry flavor balanced nicely with its black tea base. A sip of this would leave you with an undeniably sweet flavor as the after taste, something I don’t mind at all. It brews a nice golden brown, telling of the black tea that gives it it’s body.

I have a bunch of Lupicia samples (I don’t remember how, I think I stole them from my mom) and this was one of them. It’s alright. Not the best but it tastes fine. It has that fake strawberry taste but it doesn’t taste like medicine, which is nice. It’s good enough for me to drink but I wouldn’t pick it again.

Got teabag as a freebie last time I bought something at Lupicia.

A good black tea that smells like strawberry, but tastes more like regular black tea with a hint of strawberry. Second steeping yielded similar results

Opening the package is like smelling sweet strawberry fields.

The actual flavor is a bit more rough than I was led to believe based on the smell; it has a chalky strawberry flavor rather than a juicy, fruit flavor. This is okay though especially if you happen to be eating some less-processed (read: chalky tasting) chocolate – really nice.
