“January 2022 harvest A mild and unassuming white tea like many silver needles, though with plenty of nuance if that’s your thing. Nice structure — modest yet full aroma, very fluid viscosity...” Read full tasting note
Introducing Nilgiri Platinum Needles from January 2022! Harvested in the second week of the month when the winter in the Nilgiri is at its peak and this tea with its unopened buds captures it vibrantly!
The dry leaf has a ripe fruit aroma, resembling guava for the most part. There is a floral attribute to it as well, mostly like white flowers but with a hint of rose. When placed on the heated ware, you notice the ripe fruit aroma upfront with notes of guava, apricots and banana. There is a hint of the signature Nilgiri note as well, which is a unique blend of spices and herbs, mostly minty in character with notes of betel leaf, rosemary and star anise. The liquor is thick in texture and tastes floral at first, with rose and white flower notes. As it cools down, you notice the fruity attribute dominant in banana and guava. As it further cools down, there is a milky sweetness to be noticed and that blends well with the overall fruity and floral character of the liquor.
