2024 Tasting Note: an aged pu-erh with elegant and substantial sweetness! The superb honey note has a little spiciness – like spicy-woody – to it, and also vanilla, with a hint of earth and organic matter. The taste is expansive on the palate, and the after-taste is long, lingering, and almost a light oily feeling in it! Although it is more than 25 years old, the texture is still solid and there are still kicks from the tannins to make it exciting.
It was labeled as 1998 vintage 8582 when I acquired this tea almost 18 years ago. In the yearbook “Pu Erh Xin Yun” p. 59 (see books for identification), it was recorded as late 90’s by the Meng Hai Factory:
