Description

Ri Shai Cha is a very special tea, it has a lot more buds and finer leaf than Old White Tea types. That means it will have more complexity and refinement to the taste. It was picked in 2009 and has been stored as loose leaf until it was pressed in 2015. We have after a long time of negotiation managed to convince the producer of these cakes to let some of them go our way. This is our favorite amongst all the white tea’s.

A session with this tea starts out with a delicate sweetness second to none, the maybe most distinguishable feature is the texture and smoothness in your mouth, golden liquid silk comes to mind when trying to describe it. Later brews move away from that intense sweetness and over to tastes from the forest, wood and darker elements. This is a very complex tea and should be preserved for special occations (personally I am very good at finding special occations every day…)

Type: White, Bai Mu Dan
