From near Ali Shan, Taiwan, this closed style oolong has a dark green-brown leaf producing a yellow-brown liquor in the cup. It is a calming, smooth, buttery oolong with a slightly citrus note and an aroma of tropical fruits. Its production uses a technique discovered in Japan in 1986 where, prior to partial oxidation, the fresh leaf is placed in a nitrogen-rich environment for around eight hours, at a temperature above 40 degrees celcius. This increases the natural percentage of Gamma Amino Butyric Acid to over 150mg /100g dry weight. GABA is a neuro-transmitter inhibitor known to lower blood presssure, lower stress, anxiety and aid mental awareness and memory. Good for health, good for taste. Infuse for five minutes.
