From Fusion Teas

A wonderful South African Rooibos treat. The full bodied nutty flavor of rooibos is complemented with caramel pieces and Hazelnut brittle. Wonderful as is or add a touch of cream to create a smoother finish.

Ingredients: Rooibos, cocao kernels, cream caramel pieces, hazelnut brittle and flavor

Thanks Emilie for this one!
Toffee isn’t my favorite flavor but I don’t mind it either! I’m always eager to try anything I haven’t tried yet! This is one of those tisanes!

The aroma is abundant!

At first taste I immediately thought of peanut brittle but with that toffee twist…not so much the peanutbutter, per say. I also tasted the cocao (kernals) and the creamy yet sweet caramel pieces.

This is pretty good! So glad I got to try it.

I was very worried for how this tea would taste. In the bag and while steeping, it has a sickeningly sweet smell. I knew if it tasted like that, I wouldn’t be able to drink. Fortunately, it doesn’t taste like it smells. Unfortunately, it has a rather simple taste. This tea just seemed to have a general sweet taste to me. I would never get “toffee” from this on my own. It’s good enough if you just want something sweet, but you’ll be disappointed if you expect it to live up to the name.

I kinda wanted more from this Rooibos than it eventually offered. I wanted a nutty caramel taste that the word Toffee implies. It was lacking in nuttiness. The Rooibos takes center stage and leaves little room for the other flavors trying, but not succeeding, to pop through. It’s definitely worth a try, though.

This is a caramel rooibos, straight up; it tastes just like rooibos with small caramel pieces in it. I was definitely hoping for the caramel to be the big flavor in this one, but it’s overpowered by the rooibos, and the buttery note implied by the word “toffee” is unfortunately absent. Which isn’t to say it’ll be a chore to drink, but it won’t be one I reach for. It’s not making me shout “Ole!” but it’s not bad, either. It’s just kind of there, being caramel rooibos.
