Big thank you to Folium Tea for sending me this tea to try out – I always love exploring new to me companies, but there’s something especially exciting about getting to expand my familiarity with other tea companies local to me.
The dry leaf aroma pulled me in immediately with the rich dark cocoa and roasted peanut notes. Steeped up the liquor was definitely a bit different but still really delicious; I stacked these infusions three at a time in a larger cup while working this afternoon and the overall liquor was thick and syrupy with dominant notes of fermented red fruits with undertones of oak, baked yams, cacao, and just a hint of nuttiness. It was so cloudy from the very large amount of fine downy golden hairs on the buds, and overall was just a rich and flavourful session!
