The aronia, also known as chokeberry, is a shrub that produces edible berries. It is generally used cooked in jams, but it is also found in spirits, wines, herbal teas and in food coloring. It can also be used to make pemmican, a type of dried meat from Canada.
What Does Aronia Berries Taste Like?
Its flavour is interesting, it is astringent which gives a little dryness. It can also be compared to cranberries, having a tangy, slightly sweet and at the same time fruity side. It is a complex aroma to describe, the best way to highlight its flavour is of course to taste it!
