“I didn’t bother measuring; just covered the bottom of 60ml gaiwan and went from there. Ripe plums and strawberries on the nose meld with bittersweet dark chocolate on the tongue. Fills the mouth...” Read full tasting note
This is a unique, traditional cultivar that has become increasingly rare to find. It is called Buddha Hand for its hand-sized leaves and or the aroma which is said to resemble that of the long, finger-like citrus fruit of the same name.
The 2016 roasting has integrated well into the tea but is still a very forward note. Other notes of ripe fruit and cocoa show up in the taste, and the sweet aftertaste lingers long in the mouth. It is a heavily roasted tea with a medium to heavy bodied broth. It is very well rounded. Lovers of roasted oolong and rare, unique cultivars will love this tea.
