On today’s episode of “Anything Is Tea If You Try Hard Enough” I’m brewing some gifted cinnamon leaves from Marika! I had no idea how many of these MASSIVE leaves to add to my mug, but three ended up being a pretty great number. They definitely have the naturally sweet and slightly tongue numbing clove-like quality that I associate with pure cinnamon, though a lot more subdued. Aside from that, there’s a slightly savory edge to the infusion that’s especially apparent in the aroma – it reminds me a little bit of curry leaves, actually!! Honestly, it’s a pretty solid tisane – very easy afternoon sipping while still being pleasantly complex!
