Estate-grown Assams grow at a higher altitude, giving them a depth of flavor suitable for drinking anytime of day. Maltier than other types of tea, the Assam’s strong and weighty flavor goes well with the addition of lemon, milk, or sugar. (FTGFOP1 stands for “Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe – Grade 1”)

A wonderful Assam – just what I needed today. It has a remarkable caramel-y sweetness to it. Very smooth, malty and rich. Biscuit-y, toothsome quality. Delicious neat, also nice with milk and honey. The creaminess of the milk really enhances the malty tones quite nicely.
2nd infusion: a bit smoother and not quite as hefty as the first infusion, but with the shedding of some heft comes a delicious, gentle spice-like undertone. Thanks…..some people list a number like Sipdown 25. For instance TAKGOTI’s most current entry listed one. Hope my info for the Satrupa Assam helps, if you want to enjoy that tea again. Also, on “Sororitea Sisters”, can I limit my search to only your teas reviewed or Liberteas reviews? I can’t always tell who reviewed the teas. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right place. Thanks :)
