This is the only Fucha I have drank. My initial thought was I would hate this tea. It had a smoky aroma as smoky as the strongest Lapsang Souchong. Luckily the taste was much more mild. Because of the aroma I gave this tea two rinses. The first infusion was smoky but not so smoky as to need milk. There was also a nice sweetness behind the smoke. It got progressively less smoky as I resteeped the tea. In the end I only gave it six steeps because I am watching my caffeine intake. This tea was not quite played out at six steeps but I don’t think I would have gotten too many more out of it. I don’t think it has the staying power of a good puerh.
I steeped this six times in a 120ml gaiwan with 5.5g leaf and boiling water. I steeped it for 5 sec, 5 sec, 7 sec, 10 sec, 15 sec, and 20 sec.
Flavors: Smoke, Sweet
Oh, this one sounds good. I’ll have to add it to my next Berylleb order.
sounds like an interesting one! the box is lovely too.
This tea was very good but I thought it would be far smokier because of the strong aroma. It is quite a bargain at only around $24. I saw another EBay seller asking $60 for the same tea, don’t know if it was the same year.
