Native of Yunnan, whence it was introduced as a symbol of resistance to the Sino-Japanese war by Feng Shaoqiu in 1938, Dianhong is one of the most appreciated Chinese red teas, thanks to its beauty and fragrance.
Its long and big leaves flower freely from the first infusion, and the aroma is propagated readily, painting the liquor in various shades of red, from a pinkish hue of the first brews to the mature purple notes of subsequent brews.
Bangdong area is less renowned yet no less deserving of mentioning, on account of the complex and mellow taste of its rich and sweet liquor.
The leaves are slightly shorter than those of our Ancient Trees Dianhong, and the golden shimmer of young buds embellishes the darkness of mature leaves.
The young harvest doesn’t fail to surprise us with a smooth liquor, and a fragrant aroma of crimson flowers, litchi, and dried fruits.
