Cold Brew!

This is definitely one of Deb’s more aggressively lavender flavoured blends, to the point where I struggled to taste much else other than lavender after I had strained this brew. It was a smooth enough lavender, without any off notes. It was just too much overall and it swallowed all the other flavours up. I ended up added a few ounces of peach juice and it balanced things out quite nicely. More like what I expected it to taste like based on the name. It’s sort of a shame I had to doctor it in the first place, though…

It amazes me how much I’d actually forgotten about newborns and how much work it is just to feed them/make sure they sleep safely. It’s exhausting. Little one is currently fussing; hopefully “bedtime” isn’t a 4-hour ordeal like it was last night…

Anyhow, another tea I was pretty excited about. Love a well-done peach tea, which is actually somewhat rare? But like the blueberry one, I liked one of Deb’s previous peach teas, so I had high hopes.

Unlike Almond Lavender Biscotti, the lavender is not so strong here as to completely drown out the other flavours – I can definitely taste the peach, and I like it! I don’t know that I’m getting any pound cake vibes from the blend, and I wish the balance favoured the peach a bit more, but it’s a tasty blend. Probably don’t like it enough to pick up more (I would need more peach, and more cake, for that), but I think I’ll enjoy what I have.

A well-done peach tea is my favourite! I’m found a few, but always on the hunt for more.

When my sisters had their kids, my mom and I went to stay for a few weeks to hangout and do shift work with baby so that everyone could sleep and rest and be happy. Hope baby develops an easy pattern soon.

In the meantime, there’s tea.

Also, good job. Babies are lovely, but they are work.

Wishing all of you a long winter’s nap tonight!

Thank you, gmathis. :)

Courtney – The only ones I’ve really found were limited edition and now gone. One by AQ2T and 52teas’ Smoky Butterscotch Peach. I find a lot of peach teas to have a very artificial peach flavour, or no peach at all! But all three of these have quite a nice realistic flavour.

Evol – My mom was here for a bit to help out; sleep is SO necessary and precious in the first few days/weeks. Knock on wood, little baby seems to be taking to a reasonable schedule at this point – she slept for 8 hours straight last night!! Crazy!

gmathis – Your wishes seem to have worked! More knocking on wood, but the nights have been manageable since I posted this. haha.

Wow! Good news!
