Getting closer to my ideal chamomile bedtime blend. But not quite. Think it needs more lemon balm. Or maybe just some fresh lemon to brighten it up.

Another new one – part of the series of sleep oriented teas that have recently launched…

This is such a classic feeling flavour combination to me that I’m almost shocked DT hasn’t explored it prior while, at the same time, almost feeling like it sort of “too classic”. It’s basically a chamomile lavender rooibos, and that’s really exactly what it tastes like – but with the faintest touch of lemon undertone. It’s super commercial, in my opinion, and I’ve seen SO MANY variants of this tea profile over my quote unquote ‘career’ as a tea drinker…

I don’t like chamomile and I have mixed feelings towards lavender – so this is definitely NOT a tea blend for me. However, it’s so classic and there really is something to be said about both of these ingredients being very strong choices for sleep and even just relaxation in general. For anyone looking for that classic feeling, uncomplicated choice this delivers pretty well – and areas I find it differentiated from comparable blends would be the fact it’s organic, that it has that subtle nod to lemon, and just how well balanced both of those primary flavours are in general.

We’re not reinventing the wheel here, and we know that – but sometimes uncomplicated is honestly the best solution. Different strokes, or in this case tea blends, for different folks…

For me, nothing beats Bed of Roses in terms of a blend that actually knocks me out. My body just responds really well to the hops. I like Sleepy Lychee most, of the sleep blends, in terms of taste. Not everyone feels like I do – and I appreciate that we have more options and variety now!

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I named this tea! :)

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts and feelings regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

derk

I was hoping to see hops in the ingredient list of this one. I put hops in my nighttime blend. They do the trick for me, too.

tea-sipper

I love the name. :D
