From DAVIDsTEA

Some flavours are just made for each other. Pear and ginger are definitely two of them. The combo of sweet, delicate pear and warm, spicy ginger is more than the sum of its parts – especially in this perfectly balanced, organic white tea. With ginger, cinnamon, pear, apple and rosehips, it’s lightly spiced, lushly fruity and deliciously comforting. No wonder pear and ginger are so inseparable. They’re just so good together.

I’m not usually a ginger fan, but I liked the spiciness of this one. 4/5

I love pear and ginger, but the ginger in this one was a bit too overpowering to the point that it was spicy. The pear came through, but it was on the artificial side. I would probably try to drink this again when I have a sore throat.

The ginger taste is overpowering on this one, so flavour of the pear isn’t really discernible. I loved this when I had a cold or sore throat. It’s extremely soothing and I think it’d be amazing with a touch of honey.

The cost made me lower its score – there’s not a lot of white tea in there.

I’m quite surprised about the bad score this tea has been given until now. I think it’s really good! My only disappointment is the price: there is very little white tea for the price you pay.

Iced Latte.

Really solid choice for a latte if you want fruit but not necessarily conventional fruit, if that makes sense. The ginger works well for latte prep as well. Also, I find the quince stands out more this way for whatever reason. Really enjoyed it.

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

Would never thought to have made this as a latte tbh. Actually, now that I think of it, I am not sure if I ever tried this blend.

Wow, very interesting that my experience is almost opposite that of RariTea. Mine had a very fruity and floral scent with just a little spice. It almost smelled like a fruity potpourri. The flavor was very strong fruit, kind of apple-y but not quite, so I’m guessing that’s the flavor of pear in tea. The ginger was more of a candied ginger, and to me it was pretty mild – I almost didn’t notice it except for the zing at the end that ginger gives. I generally hate ginger, and I could drink this tea with no problem, so that tells you just how un-gingery my sample was. If you really want the ginger, don’t get this one. For a fruity tea, it was OK but nothing special. The tea backbone was nicely balanced, though.

First review on this tea! I picked up 50 g to try with my last online order on Black Friday. Wow. Holy moly ginger. Seriously, the ginger is real here. The tea smells sweet (it almost reminds me of the smell of Quince Charming) but tastes very much the opposite. The pear is hardly detectable except in the smell of the tea. Other than that, if I was given a blind taste test, I’d never guess there was anything in this tea other than ginger. It wasn’t the worst tea I’ve ever had but it also isn’t good either. I won’t be drinking much of this tea, or drinking it often, but I will use it up. Maybe I can find a way to make it better. I also won’t be repurchasing and won’t be sad when it’s gone.
