From DAVIDsTEA

This sweet and refreshing black tea perfectly captures the taste of a black cherry soda. For a summer treat, try it over ice with a splash of sparkling water.

Ingredients: Black tea, papaya, sweet blackberry leaves, sour cherries, licorice root, natural cherry flavoring

I’m very surprised not a lot of people didn’t enjoy this tea. It has an amazing black cherry flavour, just like that black cherry soda! I personally didn’t experience any major taste of black tea. I would recommend steeping it no longer than 5 minutes. If you steep it longer, a bitter black tea taste comes out and it tones down the cherry flavour. I love this tea any way, teapop, hot, iced. It’s very versatile. Don’t do a latte though because it would probably curdle. Having it as a teapop eliminates any taste of black tea, and that’s the way I like it. Great job DT!

Trying this first as a cold steep over 12hrs. Got 30g of this to try it out yesterday.

Not bad as a cold steep. It’s not as strong as ‘Yes, We Cran’ or ‘Cherry Snowcone’, I wouldn’t want that strong on the cherry, but a bit more of a cherry taste would be nice.

I would say that it tastes like a watered down Dr. Pepper. I’ll try it hot next time before I can give a final verdict on this one.
Maybe I can try another cold steep with a mixture of whatever I have left of ‘Yes We Cran’ and see how that turns out.

This was one of the teas from the new collection that I was most excited to try, but I’m still kind of on the edge about it. The smell was good; it made me confident this was going to be a pretty safe bet. At first sip I like it. There’s cherry, similar to Cherry Blossom, which I really enjoy. Then the black tea base comes out and it really turns me off. I’m pretty sure it’s the same (if not, very similar to the) base used in Strawberry Fields, which I have never been fond of. It’s very astringent and just doesn’t mix with the cherry flavour well. Then the whole thing kind of comes together at the end and I find myself saying “okay, it kind of tastes like black cherry soda/Dr. Pepper”. Drinking a lot of this at once makes me want to dump it down the sink, sipping on it makes me think I can at least get through my cup. Either way, not a good buy.

Update: My bf tried some and noted it kind of tasted like gum, and he’s absolutely right!

Not a cherry fan, but I still wanted to give this flavour a go. Pleasantly surprised, I must say! Not as strong/tart as I was expecting.
