Garcinia Goodness (Organic)

Tastes like Orange Pekoe…a very lemony orange Pekoe.
That may seem boring but the lemon is exquisitely pleasant..
Reminds me of growing up having orange Pekoe with lemon slices. A trip down sensory memory lane. Simply lovely.

I’ve been waiting to try this tea – while beating myself up over the fact that I never bought it while it was still on the shelves. I just brewed myself a cup of it and I really like it. At first sip, I tasted the black tea, definitely. I put a little sugar in for taste and then it was delicious! Now I taste the orange- citrusy taste of it. Quite enjoyable! There’s also the faint undertone of pu’erh, which I don’t mind.
(I find myself trying old pu’erh teas lately)

A decent cup! This tastes like a cross between a pu’erh and a black, which is a flavour profile I think I like. I also got a citrus/orange taste that reminded me a little of Berry Good (also a pu’reh), though I like Berry Good much better (probably due to the strawberry influence). This isn’t something I’d likely pick up again (too many teas as it is, and pu’erhs are really hit or miss for me), but I enjoyed this while I had it.

I liked the smell of this one, and it basically tastes the same. It is not a bad tea, but I wish there wasn’t stevia in it :( … I would not repurchase because of this, since I really don’t like pre-sweetened teas.

This is a tasty blend of black and puerh. The orange flavoring is nice. Not sure if I taste the garcinia in it. There is nothing spectacular here but it is good overall.

Brewed this once in an 16oz Teavana Glass Perfect Tea Maker/Gravity Steeper with 3 tsp leaf and boiling water for 2 min.

i think it’s the stevia in this one that is off putting…if the ingredients are wrong and there is no stevia, then it’s something to do with the orange. I don’t hate this….but the artificial taste that’s going on here leaves me thinking there is much to be desired here. Glad i only had a little sample of this.

Ok, this is much different from what I was expecting. 1) It doesn’t taste like DT’s classic fishy-ish pu’erh; in fact, the base tastes like a good quality black. I assume there are pu’erhs with this flavour profile, but I’m not well enough acquainted with them to be sure. There’s some astringency, but I steeped longer than I intended to, so I expect that may go away. 2) The hibiscus in here appears to be a non-issue. All I can taste is an orangey citrus, which isn’t all that strong, but just present enough for me.

Overall, I’m quite pleasantly surprised. Not enough to pick up more of this for myself (too many teas, too many favourites), but I would definitely recommend this to lovers of citrus tea, and people just getting into pu’erh. And don’t be afraid of the hibiscus; I have to assume it’s an ingredient strictly for a touch of colour, and just a slight zing, which is just fine by me!

Picked up a sample of this when I went to DT earlier in the week. It was one I was very skeptical of based on the description, but I thought it smelled nice in person so I got a sample anyway. I was wrong to do so.

This was a cold brew; and it tasted rather oily/fishy with definitely muddy notes and a very tart, unsweetened hibiscus/orange combo that drastically clashed with all the other flavours and probably would have been bad on its own. I think it goes without saying that I did not finish the brew; though I tried to give it a fair shot. I did about a third of the 25 oz. portion…

DT, I think this blend was a mistake.

I got a sample of this when I stopped by today in-between classes. Normally, as you would know if you’ve seen some of my previous reviews, I am not at all a fan of pu’erh tea. But, I will admit that this one was actually enjoyable! I think the fact that the black tea is mixed into the pu’erh really helps to make it less fishy/oily and more full-bodied. I would definitely drink this tea again and would recommend it as a good “starter pu’erh” for anyone trying to drink more of that type of tea for the benefits who is not a fan of the taste.
