Why do weekends go so quick and Mondays go so slow?? Its one of lifes mysteries!!!

Tea always helps me get through a slow and tedious Monday and since I have this insane box of mouthwatering french tea it made complete sense that I dig into another tasty sounding offering… This tea smells pretty darn delicious and is super pretty with the different flower petals floating in the tea leaves… Taste wise it has some serious maraschino cherry flavors going on with a touch of vanilla and chocolate… another win for my sneaky French tea order!!

Last French tea from ashmanra! I reduced the steep time to 3 minutes this time, just to make sure there’s no bitterness. This one has some lovely flower petals mixed in with the leaf, which is very Easter-y to me and the colors are well-chosen.

The steeped tea smells of sweet fruit and vanilla. Hm, surprisingly I can barely taste any flavoring in this one. It’s odd how some of DF’s teas are super subtle with the added flavors (or I suppose it could be old). The base tea is mellow and smooth, and I can taste a little bit of vague fruit as well as sweetness and a tiny bit of cocoa. It’s okay, but needs more flavor as the base tea can’t really stand on its own.

I’m so behind. I still exist!

I drank this the other night, super old sample from Shmiracles, I guess I was kind of clinging to my samples of fancy French teas.

I enjoyed it, though not enough to buy. Definitely got a fruity cherry with a sweet note sort of taste, though I wouldn’t say chocolate specifically.

It was tasty, I could see how it might be an Easter related tea.

My new goal is to get through the rest of my fancy French tea samples that I’ve been hoarding, to see which I truly love.

BUT, now I have a nasty head cold so it will have to wait.

Strangely enough, for the last couple of days my favorite teas haven’t tasted right to me. Must have been the head cold creeping up. Yuck.

A sample from Shmiracles. This is a very pleasant evening cup. It’s delicately flavoured, with a medium strength base. I added milk to this, which is just about stands, but I imagine it’d be just as palatable without. The flavouring here is subtle, but all of the different elements are there. Vanilla is probably the strongest flavour, followed by cherry, and then chocolate. It’s beautifully spring-like, both in flavour combination and appearance. The red and blue flowers scattered through the dry mix remind me of the foil wrapping on an easter egg. So pretty!

This is a welcome change from the more heavily flavoured teas I’ve been drinking recently. Sophisticated and satisfying! A positive first experience with Dammann Freres.

Since my daughter’s husband wasn’t crazy about the puerh, I decided to go ahead and make a pot of Easter Tea because I thought it was much more his type. He loved Genteel Lady which had naranquilla, and he loves anything with cornflowers in it. When I had him sniff the tin he immediately starting poking around in the leaves and made note of his beloved blue flowers and asked about the pink ones. Those were rose petals, I told him. At first I thought I smelled strawberry but it was actually cherry, a nice subtle cherry and not at all like cough syrup cherry.

I was worried about whether he would like it because I am very familiar with the flavor profile he likes but the base was different than I usually give him and I didn’t know if he would enjoy it. He did, though, and I should have known, because he likes white wine and this base has little hints of dry white wine to it. The flavors are lovely and not overpowering and not sickly sweet. Very nice!
