This Orthodox (whole leaf) Assam tea is a lot different from your typical Assam. The tea leaves are hand-picked and hand-processed. This results in a bold, flavorful, and complex tea. It tastes malty and woody with hints of honey. The brewed tea has a nice sunset orange color and it smells of a subtle campfire.
The Kanoka Tea Estate was founded in 2009 so it is relatively new to the tea industry. It sits on eight acres in Sonitpur, Assam and it is owned by the Nath Family. They are dedicated to natural practices and producing the highest quality tea that they are able to produce. They have the unique distinction in being able to say that chemicals or synthetic materials have never touched their land! Most of the organic and natural farms in Assam were converted from conventional farms to natural ones, but not this one.
