“This is definitely a good strong masala chai mix, but for me, there is far too much licorice taste – not a taste I like very much. It is a little hot, even in the mildest suggested dose used, but...” Read full tasting note
This is not a tea, but a Masala Chai mix of spices.
One can add tea if one likes, but it can be drunk without, too (i.e. as an evening beverage).
Unlike true Indian Masala Chai mixes that have a bit of an ‘afterburn’ in the throat, this version is more rounded in the after-taste.
Bring 1 cup (2,5 dl) water and the same milk to a boil. Add 2-4 Tbsp chai (w/top) and 1-2 Tbsp sugar/honey. Let steep for 5 minutes. If wanted, add a tsp tea leaves and let steep along the last few minutes.
28% Fennel, 19% Green Anise, 15% Cinnamon, 6% Star Anise, 4% Licorice Root, 2% Black Peppercorns, 2% Cardamon, and 1% Vanilla
