Despite having tried it, I still haven’t been able to learn much about this tea. The only information additional information we have from the producers was paraphrased as: “The tea was picked on the 4th of May, 2014 on a sunny day on the summit of the mountain called Jiulongke (九龙窠), around 400 meters above sea level.”
It’s worth noting that Jiulongke is the mountain where the original Da Hong Pao tea trees live! These teas are clearly close cousins both in flavor and preparation
The liquor brews to a delightful orange-red, and the flavors will be familiar to Da Hong Pao lovers: a little smokey, with big hits of ripe strawberry and dark chocolate.
