The second tea I’ve steeped up while working on tasting notes tonight. Or, in this case, more like whisked up. It’s nice but a little thin/watery. I know that I could have controlled that better since it was a preportioned single serve, but it’s hard to gauge how strong it might taste until you’ve already made it and there was no advertised serving size on the package. It’s a bit like the watery “ice rink” hot chocolate you’d get as a kid that was so hot it scaled your mouth and that was more for warmth than taste. The nicest thing about it is absolutely the finish – it’s very toasty and nutty and reminds me of very golden and well roasted macadamia nuts. I think it’s the maca in this powder. I didn’t expect that kind of finish to the cup at all but I’m loving it and it’s keeping me coming back for sip after sip much faster than the thin chocolate notes would have.
